December 3rd is Giving Tuesday, and several of our Investee and Alumni organizations are kicking off Giving Tuesday and year-end fundraising campaigns. We wanted to spread the word about the incredible work they’re doing and support their campaigns, so here’s a look at some great Giving Tuesday and year-end campaigns from the SVP Vancouver Investee and Alumni community.
ArtStarts in Schools: Support Bringing Artists to Schools
Through Giving Tuesday, help support ArtStarts’ work bringing artists to schools – putting on performances and workshops connecting young people to experienced artists, to help explore complex topics.
BabyGoRound: Making an Impact and Winter Gear Drive
Help BabyGoRound to provide struggling families with everything they need to safely care for their babies this holiday season. They are also running a winter gear drive from December 2 to 13, aiming to collect 1,000 baby blankets and 1,000 coats for families they support.
BCSTH: Support Safety and Financial Stability for Women and Their Children Fleeing Violence
This Giving Tuesday, help BC Society of Transition Houses support women and their children fleeing violence by helping to provide safety and financial stability.
Blind Beginnings: Help Them Build a New Home!
Blind Beginnings is moving to a new, bigger space in January 2025! Giving Tuesday will be the kickoff for their Year End Campaign. Throughout the month of December, they are aiming to raise $25,000 in order to help set up their new home.
DSRF: Flourish for Life
Your donation to the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation’s Flourish for Life campaign directly supports DSRF’s vital programs, equipping children for school success and giving parents confidence as they enter this new stage of life.
Fresh Roots: It’s Thyme!
Support Fresh Roots’ goal to help them grow fresh food that nourishes their community, and empowers youth by providing them with the skills and leadership experiences that will last a lifetime.
Growing Chefs: Turnip the Heat this Giving Tuesday
Help Growing Chefs continue their important work educating kids, families, and their communities about local food systems. Their edible education programs provide opportunities for kids to connect to nourishing food, feel dignity, delight, and belonging in their interactions with food, and to learn to grow and cook food like their chef mentors.
LDS – Learn. Develop. Succeed: 300K For 300 Kids
Help Learn. Develop. Succeed. raise $300K to provide critical learning and related supports for 300 vulnerable children with learning and brain-based differences like dyslexia, ADHD, and autism.
Mom2Mom: Give the Gift of Groceries
For Giving Tuesday ONLY, a Mom2Mom donor will be TRIPLE matching gifts up to $40k! All donations will go towards Mom2Mom’s grocery support program, which provides single moms and children living in poverty with monthly grocery gift cards.
New Westminster Family Place: Support Families in 2025
New West Family Place is aiming to raise $10,000 to support their barrier-free programs in 2025. Your support will directly impact the lives of families in New Westminster, helping them continue to provide vital services at no cost to those who need them most.
One to One Literacy: Gifts Matched for Giving Tuesday Week
One to One Literacy is fundraising to continue their important work supporting children to gain literacy skills and reading confidence. to In honour of their upcoming 35th anniversary, all gifts of $35 and above will be matched, thanks to the incredible generosity of an anonymous donor.
Our Community Bikes: Keep ’em Rolling
This December, support Our Community Bikes’ Keep ’em Rolling campaign, where they’re aiming to secure $70,000 by December 31st to provide bikes and critical repair support to those who need it most. This year alone, they provided over 150 bicycles to those in need, and we need to maintain this vital work.
Promise Vancouver: Support Children in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside
This Giving Tuesday and throughout December, help Promise Vancouver raise funds for their Empower Me to Empower Them campaign, helping youth thrive in a supportive environment, form safe and meaningful connections with younger peers, and grow as leaders. Today, all gifts will be matched by a generous donor, up to a total of $10,000!
West Coast Kids Cancer Foundation: Paying it Forward
This Giving Tuesday, WCK is sharing a story about two WCK families who wanted to give back. They came to visit the WCK office and pack a box full of nourishing meals for another family on a childhood cancer/blood disorder journey. The kids added some handmade cards and messages to provide encouragement and show their love. This Giving Tuesday, WCK is taking the lead from these families and looking for ways they can pay it forward for others. WCK’s year end fundraising campaign is all about supporting more families with more food in 2025. Find out more about what a donation can do for a family here.
Zero Ceiling: Year-End Campaign
Zero Ceiling provides marginalized youth with stability, support, resources, and opportunities. They create a safe, supportive environment where young people can focus on personal growth. Strong, positive relationships are at the heart of everything they do; they offer love and support to help youth move beyond crisis and begin to thrive. They are aiming to raise $350,000 by the year end to support youth to live, work, and play in Whistler through their Work2Live program.
