Why SVP?
We give differently.
Traditional philanthropy often funds programs but overlooks what makes them work — strong leaders and resilient organizations. SVP invests differently: we back nonprofit leaders with flexible funding, strategic expertise, and hands-on partnership, multiplying every dollar’s impact for B.C.’s children and youth.
Through expertise and mentor relationships, our donors (SVP Partners) can opt in to connect with our nonprofit organizations (Investees) to support leadership and as a result, accelerate their growth positively impacting more children.
What We Do
Find - We conduct a rigorous, trust-based due diligence process to assess the organizational health and impact of a potential Investee (nonprofit organization). We work with smaller, grassroots nonprofits that are typically in the start-up or early growth stages. Many of our donors support SVP because they are confident in our selection and assessment process.
Fund - We provide multi-year unrestricted financial support to close strategic gaps.
Strengthen - We empower through expertise. We offer hands-on support to strengthen leadership and operations. This is the rolling up our sleeves and opening our networks part of the work, which some of our donors will choose to take part in, alongside SVP staff and expert consultants.
Scale - We commit for the long term. We build deep, multi-year partnerships that enable growth.

We believe that greater impact is possible when we pool our financial resources, share our skills, and work in deep, long-term partnership. We don’t just fund nonprofits — we partner with them to drive bold change for children, youth, and families in B.C.
How To Get Involved
Through Partner donations SVP Vancouver provides nonprofits with multi-year financial support, capacity building programming, and external resources. These contributions are stretched further by Partners who volunteer their time, connections and expertise to help nonprofit organizations build out their internal capacity, so they can in turn, better support children and youth. The degree of involvement is entirely up to you.
