Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) offers accessible, inclusive, and low-barrier programs to immigrant and refugee women and their children, fostering a strong sense of belonging, meaningful participation, and leadership.
PIRS aims to empower immigrant and refugee women and children through a comprehensive range of initiatives, which include children and family Programs, English language classes, occupational training, and leadership programs.

An Update from Our Flex Fund – Positive Feedback from Our Investees

In 2022, we rolled out a brand-new granting stream: the Capacity-Building Flex Fund. These smaller grants are made available to our Investee and Alumni community to support capacity-building projects that are crucial to the improvement of their service delivery but that are consistently not funded by other sources.

Introducing to SVP: BC Society of Transition Houses

Discovery Team members: Monika Garg, Cathy Brown, Nicole Geyer, Helen Stortini, Sohee Kim. The BC Society of Transition Houses (BCSTH) is a member-based, provincial umbrella non-profit organization that, through leadership, support and collaboration, enhances the continuum of services and strategies. Through training, resource development, advocacy, and research, BCSTH serves and supports anti-violence workers providing essential support services and programs for women, children, and youth experiencing violence. Their goal is to support their members and amplify their voices and work collaboratively to end violence for all women, children, and youth.

A Look Back at Our AGM on June 7th

We recently held our 22nd Annual General Meeting in the bright and plant-filled And-Co Forum and Member Lounge. More than 60 members of the SVP community gathered to connect and celebrate the past year.

Our Social Dialogue Series Event was a Hit!

On April 26th, we held our first Social Dialogue Series event in person since 2019! We had a fantastic turnout, maxing out the venue’s capacity with 23 people in attendance, a mix of current Partners, prospective Partners and SVP staff.
