Janelle Zwarych

Janelle joined SVP as Director of Development and Engagement in December 2022. In this role, she will be developing and executing fundraising strategies to meet SVP’s financial objectives, and ensuring high-quality partner stewardship and engagement. 

Energetic, ambitious, and a natural leader, Janelle’s career path started in Real Estate and moved to running her own cleaning business for just under a decade. Most recently, Janelle was the Director of Fund Development at SVP Alumnus KidSafe, where she got her start in the non-profit sector, and led KidSafe’s fundraising efforts to record-breaking heights.

Janelle is an approachable and charismatic leader, and an action-oriented doer. She is driven by philanthropy, a word that has latin roots meaning “a love of humankind”. 

Janelle has a background in psychology and mental health. She completed her Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan, and coursework in counseling and mediation at Vancouver Community College and the Justice Institute of British Columbia. 

Janelle was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, until 2009 when she moved to Vancouver. Outside of work hours, Janelle can be found walking the seawall with her wife, swimming in the ocean, singing, cooking, or snuggling her Boston Terrier, David Bowie.
