David Rice

David and his partner, Janet Wood, have been SVP Partners since 2008. David is retired from 40+ years of practicing law in Vancouver, where he specialized in labour and employment law, commercial litigation, and alternate dispute resolution (mediation and arbitration). His board memberships include: Family Services of the North Shore (VP); Hollyburn Country Club (President); SVP Vancouver board member (2012-14); and Concord and Painted Boat Resort Strata Councils.
No stranger to volunteering, David has dedicated many hours to SVP and its Investees, providing employment law advice, preparing contracts, and facilitating brainstorming and other sessions. He’s worked with several non-profits including Take a Hike, Mealshare, Red Fox, PEDAL, Burnaby MoreSports, and Night Hoops.
David’s greatest satisfaction as an SVP Partner is working with Investees to enhance their ability to make a difference.
