David Ferguson

David has over 20 years of experience working with nonprofits and is an enthusiastic supporter of the essential role they play in our community. He and his wife Kathy Butler have been SVP Partners since 2003, and he has contributed in multiple capacities, both behind the scenes and directly with many of SVP’s nonprofit partners. He joined the SVP Board as Treasurer in 2019 and took on the role of chair earlier this year. David is a passionate advocate of the time plus money model and believes deeply in the two-way learning that occurs through engagement with inspiring nonprofits.

Throughout his long career, David has primarily worked with early-stage, high-growth businesses leading finance, operations, and business development across industries such as technology, healthcare, and industrial/manufacturing. Most recently, he served as CFO for several fast-growing Vancouver companies, including Aquatic Informatics, where over 12 years he held a variety of leadership roles, including overseeing finance, human resources, operations, marketing, and business development.
