The Asante Centre
The Asante Centre is committed to healthy brain development and the potential of people with brain-based diversity. They specialize in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), autism spectrum disorder, and other complex needs associated with prenatal stress, trauma, genetics, and/or mental health.
Asante strives to become a Centre of Excellence focusing on exposures during pregnancy as well as childhood abuse and neglect. They provide assessment and diagnosis, therapy, healthcare, research, resources, education, and mentorship. By scaling up services and advocacy activities, they will build a strong voice for social change in this field.
Over the next three years with SVP, the overarching focus of Asante Centre’s organizational strategic objectives are:
- Indigenize Centre practices and create maximum safety for Indigenous families accessing services
- Extension of Platforms for People with Developmental Diversities
- Incorporation of Specialized Primary Care
