Fresh Roots is excited to announce its annual Harvest Celebration on October 9, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Vancouver Technical Secondary, located at 2600 East Broadway, Vancouver.

The Harvest Celebration is a free, family-friendly event open to the public. This year’s celebration marks the end of a successful growing season for Fresh Roots and offers the community an opportunity to come together in a festive atmosphere featuring local vendors, live music, and seasonal activities.

Highlights of the event include:

• Last Fresh Roots Market of the Season: Attendees can purchase the final batch of fresh, local produce grown by students and youth.
• Live Music and Entertainment: Enjoy a lively atmosphere with performances by local musicians.
• Silent Auction: Guests can bid on unique items donated by local businesses to support Fresh Roots programs.
• Food and Beverages: snacks, and drinks will be available for all attendees.
• Games and Activities: Fun for all ages, including harvest-themed games

The celebration will also showcase the amazing work done through Fresh Roots’ Summer Programs—including the SOYL program (Sustainable Opportunities for Youth Leadership), Summer Camps, and their farm markets. These programs have engaged hundreds of local youth in hands-on learning opportunities where they grow, harvest, and share food, while building valuable leadership and community skills.
