LDS
The mission of LDS Learn. Develop. Succeed. is to empower children, youth, and adults with suspected or diagnosed learning differences to recognize their unique strengths. The goal: To help them develop the tools to improve academic success and achieve lifelong independence and confidence. For over 50 years, LDS has been delivering programs and services to unique learners and their families that are holistic, individualized, technology-enhanced, accessible and inclusive.
LDS’s Research-informed Individualized Student Education (RISE) programs provide a unique approach to suit the learning strengths and stretches of each student. With the guidance of their Learning Support Team, qualified instructors work with students one-to-one. They tailor lesson plans to target learning challenges and build on foundational skills.
LDS delivers its programs and services in multiple ways. It does so at its Learning Centres in East Vancouver and North Vancouver, at a growing number of local schools, through camps, and virtually across B.C. through the online adaptive RISE at Home learning platform. There is also LDS Access, its mobile classroom electric bus. LDS Access helps remove barriers to the individualized education every student with a learning difference needs and deserves by bringing RISE programs to local neighbourhoods.
All LDS program fees are determined on a sliding scale, based on household income, ensuring services are accessible to all families.
